Angela Stephenson is a neurologic music therapist living in the South Loop of Chicago. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College in 2011. She participated in a dual concentration program focusing on piano performance and conducting. After, she returned to school at Western Illinois University where she received a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in therapy in 2014. She received her neurologic music therapy (NMT) credentials in 2016. Through this training, she learned several NMT techniques that focus on utilizing pre-established brain synapses and communication between different parts of the brain to create new ways to perform a non musical functions.
Angela has a passion for music and people, making music therapy an ideal profession. She maintains her compliance with the certification board of music therapy so that she can continue to use the credentials MT-BC, and participates regularly in conferences and continuing education to ensure that she is up to date on the latest practices in the field of music therapy. She is a proud member of the ChiMe team!
