Teaching Artist, Double Bass
Doug earned a Bachelor of Music degree from New England Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University, with further graduate study at Indiana University. In addition, he spent a summer as a fellowship student at the Aspen Music Festival. He has completed Suzuki teacher training with Virginia Dixon from Elmhurst College.
Doug’s many performing engagements in Chicagoland have included regular appearances with the Rockford Symphony, as well the Elgin, West Michigan Symphonies, and the Northbrook Symphony. He has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Illinois Philharmonic. Prior to moving to Chicago, he played in the Amazonas Filarmonica in Manaus, Brazil.
