Ian Baker earned his Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar performance at Northwestern University with a minor in music technology. He studied guitar pedagogy and methodology with Anne Waller. He currently continues his guitar studies with Denis Azabagić.
Ian has been teaching guitar lessons to students of all ages since 2011, and his teaching experience encompasses various musical genres and styles. Ian has performed in many guitar ensemble concerts in the Chicago area as well as with Northwestern’s Contemporary Music Ensemble. He performs in solo concerts and recitals throughout the year. He has played in master classes for many world-class musicians, including Oscar Gighlia, Ana Vidovic, and Eduardo Fernandez. Ian has a passion for combining music and technology and the use of technology as an expressive musical instrument.
