Teaching Artist, Early Childhood
Jamie grew up playing outside, swimming in lakes, and making snow forts in Madison, Wisconsin. Raised by a Professor of Music Theory, her childhood home was overflowing with musical instruments. She started taking piano lessons at 4 years old. Throughout her educational career, she loved singing in choir and taking musical theatre classes. Jamie received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development/Family Studies and a Minor in Studio Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and moved to Chicago. She is a full-time teacher at Lincoln Park Preschool & Kindergarten in the Two's Classroom, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior Council, which raises money for the Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS Clinic at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. She is also a watercolor painter, a yoga instructor, an amateur pianist, a tree-hugging vegetarian, and an aficionado of children's literature. Most importantly, Jamie has a strong passion for working with children, to help them grow as individuals, discover themselves and others, and explore the world we live in.
