Is Any experience needed for this camp?
No prior musical experience is necessary. If a student has experience, we will make sure to use it in a way that makes the camp meaningful for them.
What Materials are needed for this Camp?
ChiME will provide all instruments and equipment for the camp. Please make sure children wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for walking to the park. Please bring your own NUT-FREE lunch for each day of the camp.
What activities will students do?
Throughout the week, campers will: 
  • explore favorite children’s books through music
  • create their own movements, dances, and sound effects to represent stories
  • learn two-, three-, and four-chord songs on ukulele 
  • compose their own song as a class
  • experience the beautiful sound possibilities of various instruments
  • practice collaborative creation and performance 
  • take daily breaks at the park, weather permitting
What will students learn?
Students will:
  • Explore various Broadway musicals
  • Develop their singing and dancing skills 
  • Learn various songs and develop choreography to specific songs from musicals ​

What if i have to miss a day of camp?
If we know about the absence ahead of time, the instructor might be able to set up remote access or make a recording of the key parts of the day. If not, we will make sure to catch the student up with all day’s work the next time they can join the camp. ​
Where does the camp take place? 
The camp will take place at ChiME's West Town Location, 1148 W. Chicago Avenue.
Join this fun camp to sing and dance to familiar Broadway tunes!
​We will choose 3-5 famous Broadway musical numbers through which students will develop singing and choreography skills. Campers will work towards presenting a 30 minute performance on the last day of camp for friends and family. During the camp students will:
Explore new and familiar Broadway musicals
Work on healthy vocal techniques and skills
Co-create and learn choreography to Broadway songs 
Practice the ability to sing and dance at the same time
