Instrument Primer
Designed for 4-, 5-, and 6-year olds who are almost ready to start lessons, this class will introduce students to the world of instruments and the fundamental skills essential for private lessons. Students will learn facts about various instruments and get acquainted with their beautiful sound possibilities. We will also explore all basic elements of musicianship, including beat, rhythm, and melody. All along, students will work on developing focus, following instructions, and listening. They will learn to take beautiful bows, stand/sit in rest position, and echo clap/play all Suzuki Twinkle rhythms on percussion instruments (instrument bucket packs are available for purchase). Simple homework assignments will be given to help establish the habit of daily practicing, which is essential to success once students enroll in instrument lessons.
