Teaching Artist, Early Childhood
Kaylee has always been an avid singer, dancer, and overall performer. She graduated from columbia College Chicago with her BA in Music (focusing on Vocal Performance, with a minor in Early Childhood Education). Complimentary to performing in her jazz duo, Kaylee has spent the past year teaching private lessons for voice, ukulele, and piano. She loves using music as a means for group engagement, and supports students' individuality with work on vocal stamina, breath support, and personal style. She recently directed Elgin Academy's Summer Theatre Camp, where the students put on Legally Blonde the Musical Jr. Before this she also assistant directed four previous musicals through EA and has worked as a freelance choreographer for schools and youth programs throughout the west suburbs.
Growing up in a musical family also led Kaylee to start teaching dance classes through the Dundee Park District right after high school, as well as participating in masterclasses, clinics and musicals. Some of her past roles include "Ariel" in The Little Mermaid, "Fiona" in Shrek the Musical, "Maria" in West Side Story, and "Winifred Banks" in Mary Poppins. She loves jazz, blues, musical theater, and classical music, and practices dance and yoga in her free time.
