Grant Hales is a board-certified music therapist originally from Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Music in music therapy from the University of Evansville and completed his internship at Denton Independent School District providing services in a special education program in a public-school setting. During his undergrad, Grant attended a variety of workshops including a visit to the Nordoff Robbins Centre while studying abroad in the United Kingdom.
Previously, Grant provided both clinical and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Los Angeles area. Many of his clinical interests have involved the use of technology to promote greater accessibility in engaging with music. Grant has presented at workshops and conferences on regional, national, and international levels on topics including community music therapy, the development of musical identity, and use of songs in clinical practice.
