A New Suzuki Violin Cohort for Beginners
Fall 2024 at West Town

The new cohort will begin their private lessons and group classes on September 3​, which marks the start of the new school year at ChiME. Although instrument lessons are individual, in a one-on-one setting, there are some wonderful benefits of starting an instrument with a group of other students. Students can start as early as 4 years old!

Here are some reasons to start with a strong group of beginners:

• Students feel like they are part of a "team" (much like a sports team), where camaraderie and new-forming friendships help further the learning.
• Group classes are a standard component of Suzuki instruction. In the beginning stages, it makes it easier to integrate the group and make the class a successful experience for everyone when all students in the group are on a similar level.
• Students motivate and inspire one another during group classes.
• Parents need inspiration, guidance, and support too! A cohort provides a group of peers, a support system that they can draw upon when they have questions or hit challenges.
